Elder abuse resources expanded

21 March 2019.

Our elder abuse postcards are now available in 10 different languages.

As many as one in ten older people in New Zealand will experience some kind of elder abuse. The majority of cases will go unreported.

Elder abuse is not specific to any one gender, religion, ethnicity, or income group.

To help share this message more widely in our community the Office for Seniors has developed a series of postcards, translated into nine languages.

That includes Korean, Samoan, Tongan, Maori, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese

The postcards share key messages about elder abuse and where you can go to for help.

The translated versions are available on the SuperSeniors website. That is addition to the English version which is available to be ordered online.
